Robert Calmes |

Robert is an accomplished artist who I have known for over a decade. I have heard him in many live perfomances and is a willing contributer to the music that I love to sing.

Robert Calmes has played guitar as a soloist and as a member of a variety of ensembles in Louisiana and North Carolina . Robert has released two folk albums and one eclectic solo guitar album. In addition to the British Isles pieces he showcases on the folk albums, he has arranged a large collection of instrumental oldies for guitar. Prior to studying with folklorist Jane Peppler in North Carolina , he studied cello with Thaddeus Brys and theory with John Edmunds at LSU.
Robert was the opening act for Michael Hedges on two occasions at Sunfest in Oklahoma, was an accompanist for the Duke University Dance Ensemble, was 1994 state grand champion of Zeagler's "Guitar Wars in Louisiana and was a guitar teacher for Pearson's Music in Raleigh, NC and later for Werlein's in Mandeville, LA. He is currently an English instructor at LSU.
